Mother Speaks Out on Shameless Use of Son’s Death to Line Aftermath Pockets

Sheila found it traumatic that A&E, Leah Remini and Mike Rinder exploited the tragic death of her son to line their pockets.

TRANSCRIPT:

I think it is despicable that A&E, Leah Remini and Marie are using this tragedy in my life, this time when my son committed suicide, as a way to line their pockets. It’s totally unacceptable to me.

After my son died, I got tremendous help from the members of my Church. And I think if it wasn’t for that, I would have had def...a very difficult time dealing with this. And they helped me literally twenty-four hours a day for the first two weeks, which I desperately needed at the time to deal with this tragedy.

Right or wrong, I feel that Marie, as Aaron’s wife, was responsible for taking care of him. And I’m very angry—I felt very angry the first time I saw her after this had occurred, that she hadn’t taken care of him, because she was his wife. If he had something that needed to be dealt with, there were things that she could have done to help him. And I don’t understand why she didn’t.

What I think about people who would take a tragedy like this and exploit it, well, I’ll give you an analogy. When Princess Diana died in that car crash, she was hounded by the paparazzi, these photographers that were after her for every little moment of her life. And at the very end, right when she was dying in the car, one of the photographers managed to work his way up to the car and take a flash, and get a picture of her right as she was dying. And one of the last things she said was, “Please leave me alone.”

I think it’s despicable that A&E, Leah Remini and Marie are using my son’s suicide to line their pockets.
