Hate Propagandists

The Truth About the “Sources” on the Aftermath Show

Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath was all about propaganda, and Leah Remini wielded it for vengeance and profit. Propaganda has no use for the truth. Truth is propaganda’s worst enemy and becomes its first casualty.

From the moment Aftermath flicked to life on cable network A&E to its inevitable cancellation 33 months later, it was clear the series was a platform for Leah Remini to vent her malice and was meant to create a punitive climate toward her former religion.

Through three seasons, from November 2016 to August 2019, she presented a parade of characters to an unsuspecting audience never made aware of the tricks of propaganda used to stir up a visceral, emotional response.

Remini and cohost Mike Rinder, disgraced former Church staffer expelled for criminal wrongdoing, handpicked and then coached an assortment of compromised guests, always aiming to tell the most outrageous stories—as manipulated and interpreted every step by Remini and Rinder.

The real stories of these “sources” are presented here, stories that stand in stark contrast to the portrayals screened on the Aftermath show.
