Mark Rathbun Reveals Mike Rinder’s Unpaid Stance on Narconon: It Saves Lives
In contrast to Rinder’s new, paid stance against the Narconon drug rehabilitation program, Mark Rathbun reads Rinder’s statement made before he was paid to co-host Aftermath .
TRANSCRIPT:
Another big deal they made in Season 2 [of Aftermath ] was on the social betterment activities of Scientology, and specifically Narconon, the drug rehabilitation program. And, you know, they brought in Backpage Tony Ortega to go off on the subject. And Mike Rinder is [imitates nodding] giving him the platform and giving him the sage nods and the yeses and the “mm-hmm, absolutely Tony,” right.
Five years after Rinder left the Church, this is what he published on the subject of Narconon drug rehabilitation program: “I, and you too no doubt, have seen people’s lives literally saved by Narconon. Narconon is worth saving, not destroying.”
Now compare that published statement of Mike Rinder, which clearly wasn’t made under—couldn’t possibly have been made under any duress by Scientology, since for three years, at this point, he had been being paid and making a handsome living by attacking Scientology. Square that statement with that presentation of their social betterment activities. It can’t be squared.
